Lush Review # 2

Hi guys,

Yet again, apologies for the extreme lack of posts… between work and whatnot I’ve been pretty darn busy. However, my routine is starting to sort itself out so I should hopefully start posting more regularly. This post (as you can probably guess from the title) is yet another Lush Review. In the past few weeks, I’ve been back to Lush and treated myself on some new products as well as re-purchasing some old products! ūüôā

The products that I will  be reviewing in this post are:

1) Dream Cream

2) Angels on Bare Skin

3) Celestial

5) Tea Tree Water

As with the previous Lush post, I will go through each product individually highlighting both negative and positive pointers and then of course give my own general opinion. So if you guys are interested in hearing on any of these products please keep on reading! ūüôā

1) Dream Cream

This is one of the MOST raved about products sold by Lush. It promises to banish the majority of skin-related woes and has even been prescribed by doctors as a treatment for ¬†those suffering from skin conditions such as eczema. Described by Lush itself as their “No.1 product”, I did not¬†hesitate¬†to try this bad boy out. As with all Lush products the ingredients are all natural, containing Oat Milk, Rose Water, Cocoa Butter and Lavender Oil to name a few. But does this product really live up to the hype?

Pros: It’s really hard to know where to begin with this product as I fell in love with it instantly. The texture is like silk in your hand, the scent is light and refreshing but not too overpowering ( a characteristic that I like in body moisturisers). After using this product for almost a month now, I have definitely seen an improvement in my skins condition, especially in troublesome areas such as my elbows and knees. The product sinks in quickly after application and because it is both a body AND hand lotion you are getting two for the price of one.

Cons: I won’t lie, I was debating on whether to even include any cons on this product as I found it so hard to fault ¬†I guess the only criticism that I have with this product is that I found it to be very heavy on the skin. It dried in quickly, however, I found it to leave a slight residue on the skin which led my skin to look slightly shiney and oily. My recommendation would be to use this every night before going to bed, ideally after a shower/bath, giving your skin time to truely soak in the lotion. Also, this product is way way way too heavy to use on your face and I would definitely not recommend anyone to apply it on their face especially if you already have oily/blemish prone skin.

2) Angels on Bare Skin

I had been eyeing up this product for the past few months now and I finally gave in and purhased it a few weeks ago. I have heard wonderful things about this products which boasts a “traditional natural formula for skincare”. Angels on Bare Skin uses its prime ingredients of ground almonds (to tone and brighten your skin) and kaolin (to absorb any excess oil and cleanse) to give your face an unbeatably amazing complexion. The product comes in a clay-like form which you then mix with a small amount of water in your palm until it turns into a soft paste. The idea is to use it like a cleanser and then wash away with lukewarm water.

Pros: I loved pretty much everything about this product. I loved the fact that while it was gentle on my sensitive skin it was also very effective. The ground almonds were perfect as a gentle exfoliator and left my skin looking almost new after every single use. This product is also great value for your money. Like I said, I have been using this product for over a month and it still looks like I havent even opened the product at all. It’s effects on my skin were amazing and even visibly noticeable after a few uses. My skin is now more evenly-toned, smooth and bright.

Cons: Yet again, I found it very very hard to criticise. My only two criticisms are in a sense, kind of personal criticisms and at the end of the day it really comes down to personal preferences. This product has a very strong scent of lavender, which I will admit put me off the product at first as I am not the world’s biggest lavender fan. HOWEVER, if you happen to be a lavender smelling lover then this should probably be in the pros list. I will say though, that after a month of using this product, the smell has actually grown on me so you really shouldn’t let the scent sway you. Another slight criticism, is that this product is quite messy and would require that you are in a bathroom when using it as it will get everywhere. It’s a very hands-on cleanser which requires you to transform it into a paste before use so be prepared to get your hands ….dirty?… clean?

3) Celestial

This is just one of the many facial¬†moisturisers¬†which are on offer at Lush. This one in particular caters for the most sensitive of all sensitive skins. It is a light moisturiser which works to¬†moisturise¬†the skin, stop the skin from losing any moisture and at the same time refraining from blocking your pores. As a sufferer of sensitive skin myself I found this cream to be a dream. The almond oil works to calm your skin after a hard days work/shopping/sleeping etc.. and really leaves your skin feeling…dare i say it… alive again!

Pros: As I stated above, the biggest pro is the fact that it is for sensitive skin. It didn’t break me out and it didn’t block my pores. The scent is light and almost non-existent just leaving a nice fresh aroma. As with Angels on Bare Skin it lasts FOREVER as you only really need a very very small amount to cover your entire face.

Cons: ¬†I’ve got to say that will this product states that it is very light, I found it to be quite on the heavy side. It left a slight residue on my face and¬†unfortunately i found it to be inappropriate to wear under my make-up as it left a¬†shiny¬†effect. Instead I leave this to wear at night time only and then ¬†I use a much much¬†lighter¬†moisturiser in the morning.

4) Tea Tree Water

This is the second Lush toner that I have tried and tested so far and I have got to say that I think I prefer it to Eau Roma Water. This toner is designed for those with oily/combination skin and promises to help banish blemishes while evening out the skins tone and refreshing the face. It uses the famous spot-fighting ingredient Tea Tree Oil to soak up any excess oil on the face and to calm any redness. All you need is a few squirts onto a cotton pad and sweep over your face. I find it to work best after cleansing, as it is great at removing any remaining cleanser or make-up that may be laying hostage on your face, leaving you sqeeeaaky clean.

Pros: This product deserves praise for doing EXACTLY what it says on the tin(tube). I’ve been using this for a few weeks and my skin has seen a definite improvement because of it. My spots have been fewer and far between and I’ve had relatively few blemishes or redness. The product lasts for ages and comes in both a handy travel sized 100ml or the more value-for-your-money size 250ml.

Cons: Again the scent kind of threw me as I find Tea tree oil to be a very overpowering scent but I will say that the scent really doesnt linger on the skin for very long so that didnt pose as a major problem at all. Because this product is aimed to target spots, it can tend to be a little drying on the skin so make sure you use a moisturiser after use.

Well that’s it guys for now. On my next Lush related post I hope to reviewing some Bath Bombs and soaps and hopefully the Enchanted Eye Cream if i ever get around to buying it. In the meantime, I’ll be working on some other reviews such as a Model’s Own Nail Art pen review and also and¬†in-depth tried and tested review on the new “Garnier BB tinted moisturiser”. So please please keep on reading, and commenting and of course subscribing. I would really love any helpful suggestions and please spread the word. I would love to hear of your reviews of any of the products that I mentioned about or if any of you have any Lush recommendations of your own please let me know.

Until then…. see ya and thanks for reading! Kx:)

Favourite Hair Products of the Moment

So I’ve been thinking of doing a hair product post for a while now but I found it really difficult to narrow down what my favourite products were because to be honest, I chop and change them constantly. I rarely buy the same shampoo and conditioner in a row and I love sampling new products all the time. HOWEVER, some of the products that I’m going to list below are old favourites of mine which I keep going back to because I find that they work the best for me and then some of the products are just ones that I’m obsessed with at this moment in time. All the products that I am about to list are products that I would recommend but I think before you rush out and buy any product you should consider your hair type first as not every body has the same needs. I have pretty long hair that tends to get dry ends and greasy quicker at the scalp so it’s pretty much combination hair.My hair is naturally curly and can get really out of hand so a lot of these products cater for this.

Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair beach look spray:¬†Texturising spray that gives a matte effect and that beachy look. ¬†This is one of those products that I don’t use a whole lot however I always make sure that I don’t run out. ¬†This is great when I’m going au natural with my hair, leaving it to dry curly naturally. ¬†I just spray this all over my towel-dried hair and make scrunching motions to work the product into my hair and create a kind of tousled effect. Personally I think this is more of a summer look as it genuinely gives your hair that “just been to the beach” look. This spray is great for all hair types but it can be quite drying on the hair so i wouldn’t recommend that you use it daily.

Pantene “Nature Fusion” Moisture balance leave in conditioner: There are so many great leave-in conditioners on the market catering for specific hair types and conditions. I wanted to find one that treated my dry damaged ends while at the same time not being to heavy. Pantene is renound for its “restorative” products and they are one of the best brands out there for healing your hair. This one in particular is inspired and works to balance the moisture content in your hair. This is PERFECT for my hair type. It hydrates my dry ends but at the same time is light enough to not weigh down my roots. It smells amazing and leaves your hair ridiculously soft to touch after. Again this product can be used on pretty much all hair types but those with my hair type or similar will probably benefit the most!

Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal shampoo and conditioner: Like I said before I don’t exactly have a favourite shampoo or conditioner because I pretty much just change to a different brand every time I run out. So I’m just going to review the brand that I’m using at the moment. I’ve always been a great fan of Pantene and pretty much every product of theirs that I’ve used I’ve been more than happy with the results. I chose this particular type because it promises to fight the signs of damage. I recently got my hair cut so I have no split ends and my hair is in pretty good condition so hopefully this shampoo and conditioner will keep my hair in this way. Like all Pantene products it smells really great and gives it that salon silky feel to your hair. This pair caters for a particular hair type but you can find a Pantene shampoo and conditioner that cater for pretty much every hair type.

John Frieda “FRIZZ-EASE” hair serum: Like the Garnier beach look spray, this is another product that I only use occasionally. This is just a hair serum that works to correct any frizziness in your hair and keeps your ends looking sleek. I tend to just smooth a tiny dab on my fingers and run through the ends of my hair. This works great when you’ve straightened your hair and you want to give your style a flawless finish. I never really use this anywhere except my ends as serum can make your hair very greasy very quick. Again all hair types can use this but those who suffer from the dreaded frizz will be extra grateful of this miracle worker.

TREsemme Salon finish extra hold hairspray: I’ve actually already discussed this product in a previous “Favourites” post but I couldn’t go without mentioning it again. This is a firm old reliable and is pretty much the only hairspray I use. I have 3 cans of this stuff. One large can which I keep at home and then two smaller cans that I pop into my handbag and one for my travel bag for weekends away or holidays etc. This hairspray says Extra hold and it does just that… it will keep your hair in place pretty much all day without that yuckie stickie feeling and will brush out easily at night. It smells nice and lasts for aaaages. I recommend this to everybody!

TREsemme 24hour Body sky high plumping powder: This is probably the most recent addition to my hair product collection. In the last few months I’ve heard ALOT about plumping powders and how great they are and blah blah. So of course I had to get in on this. Being a loyal TREsemme groupie I decided to embark on my first plumping powder experience with their 24hour body range. Having naturally curly hair, I’ve never exactly needed help in the volume area of things. However,I was pleasantly surprised with the effects of using this product. This comes in the form of a white powder which you shake on your hand and work into your roots. The powder works with your roots in a similar way to a texturising spray and gives it a full bouncy voluminous look. People with limp hair will adore this but pretty much every one should have this in their collection to even pull out for a special night out.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush: Again, I’ve already discussed this product in a previous post so I won’t go to in-depth into this review. This is another firm favourite of mine. It works like a regular dry shampoo reviving hair between washes. Great to bring on nights out to freshen up your side fringe or just your roots in general. It also is a festival staple product. I have this in Blush which means it has a kind of floral scent¬†opposed to the regular dry shampoo-y smell? Either works great though. This is another product that I think anybody of any hair type should have…you’ll thank me..

Aussie “Take the Heat” leave in heat defence spray: A few years ago I had a massive chat with my hairdresser and she was kind enough to give me a list of the “must-have” products that you should always use. And a good heat defence spray was top of that list. Anybody who uses a hair dryer/hair straightner/curling tongs etc (pretty much anything that applies heat to your hair) NEEDS to use a heat defence spray. Your hair is insanley susceptible to damage caused by heat and without proper care your hair can break, become dry and can even “die”. I use a few squirts of this spray to towel dry hair and then again to dry hair before I use any styling tool ( straightners or curling tongs etc). I’ve chosen Aussie because I heard so many great reviews about their products but pretty much every hair product company do good heat defence sprays in their range and most even cater to specific hair types.

TREsemme Restructuring deep conditioning treatment masque: This is one of my most favourite of all the products that I’ve mentioned above pretty much because of the amazing results that it creates. This is a restorative hair mask which works similar to a face mask. You apply generously all throughout freshly washed wet hair and leave in for between 15 to 20mins and then rinse thoroughly. It is a rescue remedy for your hair and leaves your hair feeling nourished, restored and really really smooth. I tend to use this two to three times a week.

Ionika “Bebe” deluxe travel hairdryer: I decided to throw in this random product at the end of this post because I’m a little bit obsessed with it at the minute. I decided to purchase this travel hair dryer to have handy for if i go away for a few days or on holiday and dont want to bring my big clumpy hairdryer. It’s really small so it fits in my handbag and it has the cutest design ever. Not only that, but it is also a really great quality hairdryer which dries your hair in good time and has two power settings. This would be a great investment for those who go away alot and like to travel light.

and of course last but not least my trusty GHD… I don’t think I even need to go on… ūüėČ

Ok well that’s it guys, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and found it interesting and/or informative. As I’ve already said, most of these products are just “favourites” of the moment cause I change products so often. But I would definitely recommend all these products to anyone who is interested in investing in some new hair care. As always I would really love and appreciate some feedback on my posts, let me know what you think, give suggestions, share opinions and of course please subscribe. I’m thinking of possibly doing a nail varnish review next so let me know what you think.

Thanks again for reading guys and Happy Hairstyling! ūüôā Kx

Lush Skin care regime/review

in order: 9 to 5 cleanser, Eau-Roma Water Toner, Oatifix face mask, Bubblegum lip scrub

Hey guys,

This post has taken me such a long time to prepare. I’ve been wanting to do this review for such a long time but in order to give a proper review on the products, I wanted to use them for a substantial amount of time. The four products that will feature in this blog have been used by myself pretty much on a daily basis for the past month. I’ll leave a link at the bottom of this post to the Lush website where you can buy all the products, but you can also purchase them in any Lush store nearby:)

Ok so first up is the Lush “9 to 5 cleanser”: Before I purchased this product, I had heard so much hype about it. Lots of other bloggers that I follow were raving about it and said that it was one of the best cleaners that they had ever used…I gotta say…It totally lived up to the hype. As you may know from previous posts, I have really sensitive combination (which means both dry and oily) skin so finding a cleanser to suit me perfectly is a really tricky task. This cleanser is really gentle on my skin, it is made from all natural products including Orchid oil, Almond oil and Ylang Ylang oil, all targeted to calm and cleanse your skin. I use this product twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. I smooth a dab of it all over my face using my finger tips. (the trick is to rub it in upward gentle motions to really work it into the skin) and then i remove the excess with a cotton pad. It leaves your face feeling really clean but also really moisturised and soft. I will be purchasing this cleanser from now on and I really recommend it for people of any skin types!

Lush Eau Roma Water toner: To be completely honest, I have never really bought into the whole toner idea. I found it just an extra unnecessary step in the skin routine. However, when I went into Lush about a month ago, I had a veeeery long chat with one of the girls working there about my skin type and my skin routine. She explained how important toning can be for the skin especially for my skin which is often prone to blemishes. It helps to get rid of an excess cleaner that may be left on the skin and which can often lead to the blocking of the pores and therefore a blemish. It also calms the skin and gradually evens out the skin tone. There’s a wide range of toners available in Lush that cater for each particular skin type. I was told that the Tea Tree oil toner is perfect for people who suffer with spots badly or with oily skin. The toner I was recommended, was the Eau Roma toner which is specifically for people with dry or sensitive skin. It comes in a squirty bottle and the¬†constituency is pretty much just like water. It has a very light fresh scent¬†and is made from ingredients such as rose and lavender water. Again, I use this twice a day, morning and night. I just spray a few squirts onto a cotton pad and gently wipe all over my face and neck. The great thing about this is that it’s really refreshing, so it kinda wakes you up in the morning and then after a long or tiring day it really refreshes your face at night. I have my toner in a 100g bottle but you can also get it in a 240g I believe but it really lasts a long time.

Lush Oatifix face mask: In lush you really are spoiled for choice when it comes to face masks. Just like the other products, each type of face mask is specifically catered to or targeted for a specific skin type. The face mask that was best suited to my skin was Oatifix. This face mask is perfect for dry or sensitive skin. It’s very calming and contains small almonds which work great as an exfoliator. I gotta admit though, what attracted me to this product was the smell. It is just amazing. It contains oats, almonds, honey and bananas and is so good that I have trouble not eating it. I am aware though that scent is a very personal thing so this might not be to everyone’s taste so make sure you like the scent first before purchasing. This product comes in a small roundy container and because it contains all natural and fresh ingredients it must ¬†be kept in the fridge. I try to use this about twice a week but it’s really up to you how much or little you want to use it. I just spread a small amount of it onto my face (avoiding the eye area) after I have cleaned and cleansed my face but before I have moisturised and then I leave it on for about 10minutes. ¬†I find it’s great to use when you are having a bath as its really relaxing or just after you’ve had a shower as that’s when your pores are open.

Lush Bubblegum lip scrub: I actually heard about this lip scrub weeks before I purchased it and was so excited when I actually got it. It’s a very straight forward product and basically does what it says on the label… it is a lip scrub.. which is basically just an exfoliator for the lips. All you do is rub a small amount gentley across your lips in small circular motions. This gets rid of any dry skin on your lips leaving them really really soft and smooth. It also causes the blood to rush to your lips leaving them looking plump and fuller (which is always a bonus). Always follow this scrub with a lip balm ( my personal favourite would be the Carmex cherry balm or Burt’s Bees) and voila you’ll have perfect smooth lips. I usually use this once a day but you can use it as many times as needed. The best thing about this product is that it’s edible, its made from real sugar so you can lick it off your lips after you use it and mine tastes like Bubblegum but I believe you can get it in other flavours.

Price list:

9 to 5 cleanser: 95g= roughly 5 euro or 4.50 pounds sterling    240g= roughly 10 euro or 8.95 pounds sterling

Eau Roma Water Toner:  100g=  roughly 4 euro  or 3.75 pounds sterling 250g= roughly 8 euro or 7 pounds sterling

Oatifix face mask/scrub: 75g =  roughly 6 euro or 5.50 pounds sterling

Bubblegum lip scrub: 25g=  roughly 6 euro or4.95 pounds sterling

Link to the Lush website where you can purchase all these products or simply just browse: http://www.lush.co.uk/

Thank you all so much for reading this blog. I really hope it was somewhat enjoyable or at least informative. Like i said, I would really recommend all these products but any Lush products in general really. They are affordable, do exactly what they say they do, they are environmentally friendly, contain all natural ingredients and are vegan friendly. The staff are also really helpful and friendly. I’m hoping to do a review on some of my favourite bath products from there and I’m also on the hunt to find a moisturiser from there, so I’ll keep you posted on my findings. Please please please comment and let me know what you think. I’m dying for some feedback as I still am completely new to this. Suggestions are more than welcome, or even just comment and let me know what Lush products are your favourite. Thanks again guys. Kx ūüôā

Fashion/Beauty Q&A

Okay so I realize how lame I have been recently with updating this blog, been working pretty much working all the time recently and before that I was away for a week so I honestly just haven’t had the time. Today, I’m having THE ultimate lazy day so I thought I’d do a few posts. I am in the progress of prepping some review posts as I’ve been trying out some new products in the past month so they should be ready in the next week or so. This blog is just a common blog that alot of bloggers/youtubers seem to be doing but it seems like fun so I thought I’d give it a go. It’s basically just some questions around the subject of fashion and beauty, so I’m gonna get straight into it..

*How would you describe your style?¬†God, y‚Äôknow what I actually haven‚Äôt got a clue. I don‚Äôt really have a particular style. I‚Äôve gone through all the phases of following a particular phase. Ive done the emo thing… I REEAALLY did the emo thing actually ha. I did the hippy/boho thing. I think now though I‚Äôm just a mixture of everything. I love leopard print, floral prints. The little emo in me still loves skull patterns. I just love quirky clothes. I wear ALOT of black? I dunno if thats a particular style? I’m not really into follow any particular trends but if a trend comes along that I like I will pick and choose pieces from it and then kinda incorporate them into my outfits. I like putting my own spin on trends.

*What are you wardrobe staples? Hmmm… I guess my low-top black converse, pair of plain pumps in a nude or black colour, a pair of skinny jeans, black vest tops, pair of black opaque tights, I’m obsessed with sheer shirts at the moment so those in a few colours, denim shorts, black (or any colour really) body con skirt, skinny waist belt and then a leather jacket. Those are my staples and then I usually build on those with accessories etc.

*Most wanted item? The list for this question would be insanely long if I even attempted to name everything. But I guess designer wise I’ve always wanted a Chanel bag, I think having one would make me stupidly happy. There’s a ring by Alexander McQueen that I’ve been creeping on recently that I’m probably never going to own. Then high-street wise, I’m on the search for the perfect playsuit, I would kinda like a black one that I can either style up or down, I also want a pair of leopard print low-top converse. I also want another pair of black skinny jeans but I haven’t found the perfect pair yet cause I’m insanely fussy when it comes to jeans. ¬†I’m just gonna stop here cause otherwise I’m just gonna get carried away.

*Favorite designer?Wow.. that is so tricky. Its hard to pinpoint just one. I think the obvious answer would be Chanel. Everything is just so classically stylish and flawless. I love Alexander McQueen especially his accessories. Em Dolce and Gabbana makes me drool, im particulary in love with a certain gold watch that I will probably never be able to afford. And then obviously I love Pauls Boutique. Its actually so annoying how popular he’s gotten in the last few months. I remember about 5 years ago, I purchased my first item of his in the massive Topshop in London and ever since then I’ve adored him. I got my first bag of his at Christmas and the purse im using now is by him. But now i just see so many scangers and chivvy annoyin girls walking around with them and just.. ugh

*How much do you spend on clothes? The easy answer to this is just to say that i spend waaaaay too much. I’m finished college now and what I should be doing is saving up for grown up things but naaaah I keep repeatedly blowing all my wages as soon as I get them. I think getting a Laser card has been both the best and worst thing that has happened to me. I thought that once I moved away from Dublin for the summer that I wouldnt buy as much but I’ve found ways, I’ve turned to online shopping as a substitute :/

*What are your favorite places to shop?? Emm Topshop is my all time favourite. If i won the lotto id probably blow a huge proportion of it and buy absolutely everything in the shop. I also love Urban Outfitters even thought their prices make me want to cry. H&M is probably the shop that most of my clothes have come from. They are such a good ol’ reliable and I know that whenever my friends and I were looking for an outfit for a particular event, H&m is our old reliable. Obviously cant go without mentioning Pennys. Pennys, in the last year and a bit has gotten amazing. Its clothing is so up to¬† date on trends and ah i just love it. I love their bags and jewellery as well. Schuh is my favourite place to buy shoes, their heels are amazing and I like to spend loadsa time just walking around the shop like a massive creep.

*Favorite fragrance?ANYBODY that knows me or has ever been anywhere in smelling facilty will know that its D&G no.3… since i was young i always wanted to find MY scent.. like a signature scent and I‚Äôve found it. Its amazing. I always love Sarah Jessica parker‚Äôs range Lovely and NYC. ¬†And recently I’ve bought myself DKNY’s scent Be Delicious… I used to spray this all over myself anytime I went to a pharmacy or department store that sold it, so I bought it a few weeks back cause it was half price in a local chemist. Really chuffed with it..for anyone that isnt familiar with it, it smells really yummy and applely..nom.

*Whats your favorite way to do your hair? I’m awful when it comes to my hair. I’m really boring and just tend to kind of leave it down and either straighten it or leave it natural which is pretty curly. On¬†occasion¬†I’ll tie it up in a high knot or bun and sometimes I tie it in a plait to the side.

*What is your go-to outfit when you have no idea what to wear? ¬†Em for daytime it would probably be either my skinny jeans and a sheer shirt or a body con skirt and vest top and cardigan. My go to shoes are either my converse, military boots or some plain pumps. And then I usually dress these outfits up with ALOT of jewellery, i’m obessed with jewellery.

* What would you choose to do Рbuy something in high quality or make it your self if you can? I actually pick both. In an ideal world obvious id love to be able to go out and buy tons of high end items.. but realistically its just not gonna happen. I love seeking out cheap bargains and as i said earlier places like Pennys is ultra cheap and still very much on trend. I love altering clothes that i already have.. sprucing them up.. maybe adding extra buttons.. chopping things up.. making them more me. Actually on the look out for a new sewing machine so i can start properly making my own things.

*Who/what inspires your fashion? Absolutely everything and anyone. I get ideas from magazines/tv programmes/ randomers on the street/.friends/fashion blogs/videos

Favorite: jeans, sunglasses, heels? My favourite jeans used to be my Black skinny drain pipe jeans from Stradvarius but they are just destroyed now from me wearing them the ENTIRE time. So now my favourite are my Topshop skinny jeans. I love Topshop‚Äôs jeans.. always fit really nice. Actually hate buying jeans. I‚Äôve a really annoying figure for jeans. My ass just doesn‚Äôt want to fit in anything. My favourite sunglasses? My favourite that I own would be my imitation Avaitor ones that I bought in Bershka about 3years ago and have still managed not to break by some miracle. I also own a few pairs of cheapo Penny‚Äôs sunglasses which I think are actually amazing. They look great. Only downside is that they actually break real easy. I think the most wanted item on my wish list though would be Ray-ban wayfayers … I want a pair ssssoooo badly.¬† Favourite heels? Em i think probably my kinda black cloggy studded platforms that I bought on sale in Schuh about 2 years ago. I‚Äôve been told they look like hooker-esque shoes.. but meh.. i love them ha.

Okay, so that’s it for the Q&A, I really hope that you liked it and that it wasn’t too boring. As I said, I’m in the progress of getting some new posts ready. Hoping to get my Lush Review up in the next few days. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for posts. Still really new to all this so I would love any help that I can get. ūüôā Thanks again! Kx

Favourites: Beauty edition

I am a massive make-up and cosmetic products nerd… I’m constantly buying and trying out new things but just like any girl really, I have my old¬†reliables… my favourites. This blog post is a quick run through all my favourite products. Enjoy Kx ūüôā

1) ¬†Simple¬†Kind To Skin: Cleansing facial wipes. These are actually my number 1 favourite of all time. I have reeeally sensitive skin so sometimes certain wipes can either cause breakouts or dry my skin out… these wipes do neither. In general, I use practically all Simple products when it comes to skincare cause I know I can trust them not to mess my skin up. These wipes in particular clean off all your make-up will giving your face an overall cleanse. I usually follow with Simple’s: Spotless Skin: Anti-blemish moisturiser.¬†

2) Dove: Silky nourishment body cream: I’ve actually tried so many body moisturisers and body butters but I ALWAYS come back to this particular product. Dries in really fast and keeps my skin moisturised and soft all day. I usually apply this straight after a shower/bath or just before I go to bed.

3) Aussie: Take the Heat: Leave-in Spray: This is basically a conditioner that you leave in your hair without washing out. Keeps your hair from tangling and drying out and protects your hair from heat damage from blowdrying/straightening and curling. ¬†Just spray throughout towel dried hair before you use any styling appliances. Smells great as well! ūüôā

4) Garnier: Soft Essentials: Soothing toner: For years I never really used any toner at all, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve become better at staying loyal to the traditional: cleanse, tone and moisturise routine so I decided to try out a few toners. What I found was that a lot of toners were too harsh on my skin and left it feeling kind of tight and dry. Garnier’s toner however is designed to suit sensitive skin, it’s really light and it actually does what it says on the label. Left my skin feeling soft and after a pro-longed use, i began to see that my skin tone had evened out.

5) TRESemme: Salon Finish: Firm hold hairspray: I have the most ridiculous “fly-away” hair on the universe but even a few spritz of this hairspray and my hair stays in place for the majority of the day. I have this in the 500ml bottle but you can also get smaller bottles to carry in your handbag.

6) Dove: Beauty Finish deodrant: Ok, so I realize that this product is relatively new but it has quickly become a favourite. It keeps you sweat mark free, white-mark free and odour-free ALL day. And after using it for about a week it leaves your underarms looking smoother, softer and evens out your skin tone.

7) Sally Hansen: Airbrush Legs: This product has been ranted and raved about in about a bazillion beauty blogs worldwide… and for good reason. This is the only tan I use and will ever use. It is primarily intended for use on your legs but I use it everywhere! It applies insanely easy. It doesn’t streak and most importantly it washes off easily. Shade wise, I’m quite pale but for a night out I go for the “medium glow” shade. however if you are pale and are using it for just everyday wear I’d go for the light glow. Great bonus feature about this product is that it leaves almost a shimmery glow on the skin so looks great for a night out.

8) Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush: Anyone that’s ever been to a music festival will most likely be BFF’s with this product. But for any Batiste virgins out there this is basically a spray in shampoo that you can just spray into dry hair and it will soak up any grease and leave your hair looking and feeling instantly fresher. It’s a really great product for the summer or carrying in your handbag to freshen up during a night out. I use this product in “Blush” as it has an added floral scent but you can also get this product in original which has a light scent.

9) D&G No.3: L’IMPERATRICE perfume:¬†ANYBODY that knows me or has ever been anywhere in smelling range will know that this perfume is my life. Since i was young i always wanted to find MY scent.. like a signature scent and I‚Äôve found it. I literally feel naked without this. Wear it absolutely every day.Sounds so stupid but I don’t even know how to describe the scent.. its just amazing. So if you haven’t already tried it GO NOW and get a sample at least.

10) Models Own Nail Art pen (in Black): I’ve had a sick nail-polish addiction ever since I was a wee one.. and when I found this product on Asos a few weeks back i had butterflies. It’s actually one of the coolest things I’ve ever bought. You can use it to draw designs on your nails. What I usually do is paint my nails in my chosen colour and then either draw little polka dots or stripes across the nail. Dries really quickly and the needle is super thin so you can really draw anything you desire. I’m gonna do a seperate blog post on this product later on and post some pics of some designs I’ve done using it.

11) Soap & Glory: Heel Genius: Foot cream: You will literally never find another foot/heel cream as good as this. It’s super enriching and moisturising even on the hardest of skin. It smells amazing and dries in so so quick. I am in love with all Soap & Glory products but this is a favourite in particular. Use after a shower or bath or after¬†ex foliating¬†your feet with a Ped-egg or foot-buffer.A handy trick is to lather your feet in this cream and then pop on some light cotton socks and wear overnight. ¬†You will wake up with new feet..seriously!!!

12) St.Ives Apricot Scrub: This scrub is intended for your face but I use it on my body as I find it to be a little too harsh on my face. This works great as an overall exfoliator  and leaves my skin feeling really really smooth. I use this straight away in the shower before I shave. Apply it to a loofah or shower poof and scrub gently all over.

13) Maxfactor Second Skin Foundation (in Creamy Ivory): I have a pretty extensive collection of various different brands of foundation.. Over the years I’ve swapped to different types/shades/textures etc. This foundation is perfect for my skin though. I hate the look of heavy make-up and this foundation blends in so well that it actually doesnt look like it’s on at all. You can layer it up as much as you want depending on the level of coverage you are looking for.

14) Maybelline: The Falsies Volume Express Mascara: Best mascara in the world. Fact. This is a really jet black shade so makes your eyelashes look long, thick and dark. If you havent tried it already go now!!!

15) Soap & Glory Trick and Treatment under-eye concealer: I’ve been using this concealer for just under a year now and I honestly dont know how I lived without it. It gets rid of any dark circles and acts as a perfect base for eyeliner or eyeshadow. Its also not to heavy and blends really well with your foundation.

16) Benefit’s Erase Paste: Just a teeny warning: this product is actually on the pricey side..retailing for about 25 yo yos but guys it is so so so so worth it. It’s the best concealer I have ever used in my whole life. Best coverage and the shades blend into your skin so well. I also find that they leave my skin looking really smooth wherever it is applied. It comes in what looks like a¬†minuscule¬†tub but it will honestly last you for a long time. Well worth the splurge.

17) Essence Liquid Eyeliner: This is such a beauty steal. Its insanely cheap ( think its about 2.50) and it actually is one of the best liquid eyeliners that I’ve tried. Goes on with a thin brush and is really easy to apply. Everybody needs this in their make-up bag.

18) Benefit’s Posie Tint: I’ve only recently began to use this product and I’ve fallen in love. Its a cheek and lip tint in a very light pinky shade. You just had a few strokes of this tint to your lips and your cheeks and rub in. It will stain your lips a very light pink glowy colour and the best thing is that it stays on for aaaages. Great two in one product.. really handy for any make-up bag.

19) Gosh Velvet touch foundation primer: Softest primer in the world.. dries in quickly and just creates a soft smooth canvas before you apply your foundation and concealer. It also helps to keep your make-up staying on longer. its a great investment as the one 30ml will last you AT lEAST a year.

20) Red Lipstick: Anybody that knows me will know that red lipstick is my trademark look. I use a varied collection of red lipsticks. My old reliable is the gosh range but recently I’ve been using Rimmel’s one in Diva Red. Most important thing when choosing a red lipstick is to make sure you pick the right shade for your skin tone.

21) Lip Balm: Everybody should have some sort of lip balm on their person at all times and apply it generously throughout the day (especially in the winter). I tend to always have the old reliable Vaseline lying around but as an extra treat I also have Burt’s Bees lip balm in Mint and Carmex in Cherry.

22) Soap & Glory’s Hand Food: I think this product has given me some sort of OCD about applying hand cream. I carry a small little container of this everywhere I go and I’m constantly applying it. I’m addicted to the smell and It leaves your hands crazily soft. Nom!!
